I recall 20 plus years ago all the snow geese that were in SW Manitoba. Around the Baldur, Ninette, Glenboro Killarney areas they were plentiful. Believe the small town of Dunrea still has a snow goose monument. You just dont see many in that area anymore. Plan on heading out for a Reconnaissance/Scouting in next couple weeks just to see whats out there this spring. Always see lots of wildlife for sure!

The spring migration is much further west than in the fall. We usually find them Ninette -> west. In the fall you'll see them by Winnipeg; sometimes even Beausejour.

Agree, I find over the years more and more waterfowl seem to be more to the west into Saskatchewan. Still great waterfowling here but possibly loss of some prairie pothole habitat in that area over the past couple decades! I love hunting small dugouts and potholes rather than bigger water that holds divers etc. I like the puddlers, mallards especially!

We see lots of snows and blues the third week of April every year... they like flooded fields. only have to go 60 miles west on #2 or 3 hwy.
Side note, got my spring goose licence and happy to see the Canada season ends April 10th this year..... we need that as winter just wont let up this year, again.... remember last year!
