As I recall Manitoba did used them for awhile. Can still remember playing with them and opening them with a part of a razor blade. Was Manitoba's first attempt at recycling. ;););)

I’d love to know the year on them. Thinking the 53 might mean 1953. Could anybody verify that

The ones you show are Alberta seals. I got my first Manitoba deer licence in 59 or 60 and I recall the metal tags being used. I really cannot remember specifically if the Manitoba metal seals where family members or my own. I would think 1960 plus or minus a couple of years.

I remember using those in Alberta when I lived there in 1978.
I vaguely remember the first ones Manitoba used which had a flat lock and guys would open them with a piece of shim stock from the back side, they later went to the same style as Alberta which couldn't be opened or at least the guys I knew couldn't do it.
