100's of them out there. Just cruise a favorite lake and find a place to pitch a tent on shore. It doesn't get any better than that! No firepit required in Ontario or outside provincial parks (when there are no fire bans on of course).

Most people won't advertise their favorite crowned land spots though since it lowers the odds of it being available the next time they want to go out and camp.

Rushing River has some nice looking lakefront sites though. So if you're talking places to pay to camp, that gets my vote for the best.

Wanipigow past Manigotagan has some great sites on the water. We stayed at some and brought our boat to fish. Did not end up launching the boat as the shore fishing for walleyes and pike mixed with some Moose(head) made boating not an option.

If you like to drive nothing beats Bakers Narrows for waterfront sites!!! You have a little one now so the yurts are good for that, book early though. Nothing beats fishing Athpap all day then sitting on your perch 40ft over the water with a fire going and a cold bev in hand!! We booked Otter Falls today for a 10 day stay waterfront in august the best waterfront sites in the south end of the province. IMO Backroads is right though getting off the park grid can't be beat!!
