I've had both the 17 hmr and Now I have a 22 wmr. I found the 17 hmr was great until there was the slightest wind, then it was all over the place. I'm sure the 17 hornet would be the best option of the three, but round availability and cost of ammo might not be great. I'd say they're all a little light for coyotes. I'd move up to the 223 for extra range.

Well I have a 22-250 but it’s overkill for gophers and small varmint
